The Star Wars movies are some of my favorites, which is why I was excited to try out the Angry Birds Star Wars Telepods toys from Hasbro. The line of toys lets you play the Angry Birds game in real life, as you stack blocks and knock them down (along with a few pigs) using the Angry Birds figures.
My son likes playing the Angry Birds games on my phone, but he really likes playing with the Angry Birds Star Wars toys. There is an art to stacking the blocks as high as you can go. It is also fun to launch the birds at the tower and to hear the satisfying crash as the pigs fall to the floor. Hasbro sent us the Angry Birds Star Wars Endor Chase Playset, which uses a mini speeder bike to launch the birds into the air before crashing into the pig tower.
The thing that sets the telepods playsets apart from the other Angry Birds toys is how it connects with the Angry Birds Star Wars II app. The toys come with a clear pedestal that “transports” your Angry Birds toys into the app. You just place the toy onto the pedestal, which works as a magnifying glass for the QR code on the bottom of the toy. When placed over the camera on your phone or tablet, the Angry Birds Star Wars game reads the code and then gives you the character within the game. It is a fun little way to connect the game with the real world experience with the toys.
Hasbro offers several types of Angry Birds Star Wars telepod playsets in which you can be a bounty hunter, fight a duel with Count Dooku, or attack the Death Star. And each of the playsets come with special figures that, when teleported into the app, give you special things. If is a fun excuse to collect the different playsets. If you are a fan of Star Wars and Angry birds, it is worth checking out this line of toys.
