I'm buying one. This is PERFECT! But I didn't see anything about math - where are the numbers?! DH and I spent a decent amount of time in the bookstore the other day trying to find books with numbers. The numbers were all so small with the images to count being much larger...BOO! We need more number books!

I saw this on Good Morning America and it made me ill. I seriously hope this school district (if this does indeed turn out to be true) feels the ramifications of such an invasive choice.

What happens if Tyler beats your high scores on the classic games? That would be a buzz kill. If you give him the newest stuff, you could argue that games these days are too complicated or some other lame excuse. But if he makes you look like a fool at your own games, it is hard to bounce back unless you go with the classic, "I was letting him win" approach.

Oh I'm sure that you could come up with a few jokes about playing with your balls if you really tried. But I did have to wonder if the do it yourself rubberband ball was intended to be a joke, or if it was seriously intended to be a real kid's toy. But there it was, right on the shelf with the real items, not in a back corner with gag gifts. So who knows?

I consider myself to be a pretty darned smart cookie. So, I had the brilliant idea to raise my son on the same games and such that I grew up with. An old Atari 2600, with Pitfall, and Space Invaders. The NES and Super Mario Bros., and Metroid. I figure I'll save money by buying old crap that nobody cares about, and Tyler will be none the wiser... until he starts school.

The wife poo-pooed the idea. Drat.

That's a pretty good looking car. They've definitely gone retro with the body styling. Remember when the whole retro thing got started back in the 90's with the prowler? I sure hope they put a good engine in the charger because the Prowler was nothing but looks. If it's going to be a factory muscle car it's got to at least have a little kick, right?
