When we moved to Sammamish, it didn’t take long to discover the MOD Pizza near our home. The place is a popular hangout for families because you can order an individual pizza or salad and customize it with whatever ingredients you want. The food is good and the atmosphere is casual. It is easy to see why there is always a line out of the door.
I usually order one of the pizzas from MOD’s menu board (there are usually 10 plus a few seasonal options). I’m a fan of the Dominic (white sauce, asiago, basil, red onion, tomatoes, sausage). My son likes the Maddy classic cheese pizza. But today, I ordered the Sienna, one of MOD’s seasonal choices that will be available through September 30 at all MOD locations.
The Sienna has a garlic rub, red onions, sliced mushrooms, a hint of rosemary, mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheeses. They have offered this pizza seasonally since 2008, but they are adding a twist this year with the addition of roasted Brussels sprouts.
The roasted sprouts gave the pizza a sweet, nutty flavor. If you order a salad, you can also request the roasted Brussel sprouts as an ingredient.
MOD had the big roll up doors opened during our visit, which kept a nice breeze going through the place. It was in the 80s this weekend, which is about as close as Seattle gets to a heatwave. My son and his buddy ordered milkshakes and we all enjoyed munching on pizza. Even my son agreed that the roasted Brussel sprouts were pretty good.
