The cold weather has kept us cooped up indoors the past few days, but we have been busy playing with all of the new toys Santa brought us. While I have been testing out my new power drill, my son has been driving the Toy State Road Rippers R/C Dodge Viper around the house, much to the amusement of our two dogs.

This Amazing Gingerbread House is Big Enough for a Family to Live In
I tried to convince myself that there would be drawbacks to living in a home made of cookies and candy. The gingerbread walls would never support my flat screen TV. My son would constantly take pieces from the roof for a snack. And, of course, we all know that only mean witches in fairy tales can live in a candy house. But as I stood there in front of the the enormous gingerbread house at Great Wolf Lodge, I couldn’t help but think that having a house made of sugar would be simply amazing.

A Camera That Also Works as a Phone, Samsung Galaxy S 4 Zoom on AT&T
I use my phone for surfing the web, texting, taking photos, and making calls – in that order of frequency. Making calls has become a rare event, but I find that I often reach for my phone whenever I want to take a photo. As a parent, the photo worthy moments seem to happen rather […]

Looking for a Winter Escape? Park City, Utah is a Winter Wonderland for Families
I’m originally from southern California, so the idea of playing in the snow is something that still seems like a treat. I remember the first time it snowed after we moved to Oregon. My wife and I stood out there in the snow taking pictures to send back to our friends (and I’m sure our neighbors were laughing at us at the time). A lot has changed over the years, but our family always looks forward to winter and opportunities to spend some time in the snow.

Our Family’s Trip on the Polar Express at Mt. Hood Railroad
It is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. With a chill in the air, my family took a drive out to Hood River to see Santa Claus and to ride the Polar Express on the Mt. Hood Railroad. My son brought a friend along for the experience and it was fun to watch the boys as they got excited about every little moment along the 90 minute train ride.
