Fifty-Five Years of the Disneyland Railroad Grand Canyon Diorama
One of the things I enjoy most about Disneyland is the history of the theme park. This past weekend, the Grand Canyon diorama in the the Disneyland Railroad reached fifty-five years as part of the attraction. The diorama might not be a thrill ride by today’s standards. But in 1958, the 306-foot-long diorama was considered a big attraction and boldly hyped as the “longest diorama in the world.”
How to Find the Best Deals on Great Wolf Lodge
Everyone wants a good deal on a vacation and I often get questions from parents who are looking for discounts on a Great Wolf Lodge trip. The hotel and water park occasionally run special promotions like a 48-hour sale or Groupon, which gives you the biggest savings. There are many ways to save on a regular visit as well. Below are a few tips to finding the lowest rates.
Walt Disney World Promotes Florida Resident Discount with Free the Goat Campaign
The goat from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is the centerpiece of Walt Disney World’s new campaign to promote the Florida resident 3 days for $119 discount tickets. “Share the discount link on Facebook and Twitter,” the goat bleats. Somehow, this social media karma will release the goat into the Magic Kingdom so that he can ride the attractions.
What Are the Odds: Disney World Photo Shows Couple Together 15 Years Before They Met
Many couples visit a Disney theme park for a date, but the Toronto Star posted one of the strangest Disney love stories I have ever heard. About 30 years ago, when they lived in separate countries, long before they met and married, a family shot of little Donna Voutsinas at Walt Disney World also happened to catch then 3-year-old Alex Voutsinas in a stroller in the background.
Banana Stuffed Cinnamon Sugar French Toast for Easter Brunch
Easter remains a special day for me and my family, but we keep things much more low key these days. The traditional egg hunt remains part of our day. We also have a special meal, but opt for a brunch instead of an elaborate meal. One of my favorite items to make is cinnamon French toast, which is easy to prepare and always a hit with the family.
Disney Junior – Live on Stage! Reopens with an Updated Show
When Disney Junior – Live on Stage! reopens this week, it will include two new segments with characters from “Doc McStuffins” and “Sofia the First.” The show gets updated periodically to include the latest characters from the Disney Channel. My son enjoyed the “Little Einsteins” and “Handy Manny” parts of the show, so I know they will be missed. But it is nice that Disney is making an effort to bring in new characters to keep the experience fresh.
7 Fantasyland Details Often Overlooked at Disneyland
Even if you visit Disneyland often, there are usually little details that go unnoticed. Fantasyland is full of these touches that add an extra layer of fun to this land designed for children.
Got a Question About Great Wolf Lodge? These Parents Have the Answers
If you are a regular reader of this site, you likely have noticed that I write a lot about Great Wolf Lodge. My family loves visiting the Grand Mound, WA location because there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
Playskool Finds a Classy Way to Juggle a Hot Potato
I have put my foot in my mouth more times than I can count. It is easy to say the wrong thing and can be hard to make things right. Playskool recently had one of those moments when the company made a rare misstep with the tweet, “Does Dad ever have a day where he’s in charge?”
