It was a great day to kick back and watch NFL Red Zone, as the teams competed for a place in the playoffs. All of the talk about wins and losses reminded me of Don Shula and the Dolphin’s 1972 perfect season, which was recently celebrated at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel.
Don Shula, Mercury Morris, Hall-of-Famer Larry Little, and Earl Morrall met with fans to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their perfect season. Shula’s 1972 Dolphins went 14-0 in the regular season and became the only team to win the Super Bowl after completing a perfect season. The NFL introduced the 16 game season in 1978.
Below are some photos from the event, which appropriately took place at Shula’s Steak House inside the Swan and Dolphin Hotel. Click on any of the photos to see them in a larger format.
