The Air Hogs Supernova is a kid friendly quadcopter that your child can easily control with the wave of a hand. Encased in a light, plastic org, the Air Hogs Supernova performs tricks based on your hand motions. It is simple to use and fun to play with.
To get started, you lightly toss the orb away from you. The propellers kick into gear and the orb hovers in the air. When you swipe your hand in the air, you can signal the orb to move to the left or right. Other hand gestures trigger the Supernova to spin, to fly through the air in a boomerang motion, or to dance through the air.
The Supernova uses a series of sensors and lights to track your hand (or even leg) movements and responds to your gestures. My ten-year-old son mastered the simple tricks quickly and could perform the advanced tricks within a day or two. His favorite advanced tricks were the Super Spin, the Dance Disco, and the Orbiter.
The tricks are easy to learn by watching the YouTube tutorial videos. Air Hogs says that the Supernova can perform 30 moves and 9 advanced tricks. When my son’s friend came to visit, they discovered that you can pass the orb back and forth and they made a little game out of it.
We had fun playing with the Supernova in our living room, which is large enough to perform the tricks. The orb works like a guard that protects the propellers, so it is safe to use indoors and prevents contact with little fingers. When we played with the Supernova, we found that it could bump into walls or the ceiling without causing any damage. To turn it off, you just grab the orb and turn it upside down, which makes the propellers stop. It is very kid friendly and easy to operate.
You can purchase the Air Hogs Supernova for about $40 and it can be found in most toy stores or online retail sites. The Air Hogs Supernova is a gravity-defying toy that is perfect for children 8+ and safe to use indoors. Your child will feel like they have superpowers when they make the toy spin and dance all with the wave of a hand.
Thank you to Air Hogs for providing a Supernova to play with and for sponsoring this post.
