Like most of my friends, I use my phone to take photos more often than I use it to place calls. I have a few hundred photos on my phone, and I often use it to upload photos to Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. One of the apps I have been using is Pic Stitch, which lets you make a quick collage of your photos. It is a neat way stitch your photos together to create a single snapshot of an event.
Over the weekend, my family visited a local tulip farm, which was a fantastic place to take photos. I used Pic Stitch to put together a few different perspectives of my son playing in the rows of flowers, which turned out great because of all the color in the background.
The app is great for sharing photos of your children, but it could also be used to show a before and after sequence, or to show a series of photos. I’ve had a lot of fun playing with the app over the past few days.
How to use
Using the app is easy. When it loads up, you just select the layout you want and then double tap the squares to add photos. You can pull in images from your camera, photo library, or Facebook library.
When you add a photo, you have the option to do some basic editing, like adjusting the color, cropping the photo, removing a blemish, or applying a filter.
After you complete your photo, you have the option to upload it to a social site, email it, or you can even order prints of your image from Walgreens.
The good and the bad
As with anything, there are some pros and cons. On the plus side, the app is easy to use, has a clean design, and makes some great looking collages. I also liked the photo editing tools because they were easy to use on the phone’s small screen. On the downside, the free app includes ads and invitations to buy bonus layout packs. This is to be expected with free apps, so it wasn’t that big of a deal from my perspective.
Give it a try
Pic Stitch is a fun app and worth downloading onto your phone. It is a neat way to share your photographs that makes it easy to show several views from an event. It also seems like the perfect solution for parents who can’t decide which photo of their children is the best. With this app, you can pull all of your favorite photos together and then share the results with your friends and family.
