Shula’s Steak House at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel has a special treat planned on November 29. The winningest coach himself, Don Shula, will be at the restaurant along with a few players from the 1972 team in celebration of the 40th anniversary of their perfect season.
For many people, the closest thing to a perfect season they have seen was the New England Patriot’s 2007 season where the team went 16-0 in the regular season before losing to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl. Shula’s 1972 Dolphins went 14-0 in the regular season and became the only team to win the Super Bowl after completing a perfect season. The NFL introduced the 16 game season in 1978.
On November 29, from 6-7 pm, Don Shula and former 1972 Miami Dolphins players Mercury Morris, Earl Morrall and Hall-of-Famer Larry Little will meet and greet with attending guests in the restaurant’s lounge. There is no charge to attend the meet and greet. You just need to have a reservation for the restaurant that evening.
Everyone who dines at the restaurant that night will receive a specialty “Absolut Perfection” cocktail to mark the occasion, which will be served in a take-home commemorative glass.
As a big football fan, Shula’s Steak House is my favorite restaurant at the Swan and Dolphin Hotel. The restaurant’s menus are hand painted on footballs and the walls are adorned with memorabilia from Shula’s perfect season. The restaurant’s angus steaks are fantastic and the bartenders are top notch. It is a wonderful place to visit for a special evening.
Reservations for this special event are required and can be made by calling (407) 934-1362.
