Changes are coming September 4 to the Disneyland short term parking lot on Harbor Boulevard.
On September 4, the short term lot on Harbor Boulevard will close for construction. When it reopens on September 7, the parking spaces will be gone and instead there will be three lanes for traffic. The center lane will be for pass through traffic and the two outside lanes will be for loading and unloading. This will be similar to what you experience at most airports, where you can stop to load and unload but not park and leave your car.
If you need to park your car for a brief period, Downtown Disney still offers three hours of free parking. After parking, you can then walk to the Disneyland main entrance (about a 15 minute walk).
The short term lot on Harbor Boulevard was originally created to allow easy access to the ticket booths. Over the years, Disney has added several ways to purchase tickets in advance or even from your phone, which makes the need to park less necessary.
This change won’t impact most visitors. But if you’re a local who drops off your teenagers so they can use their Annual Passports, this change is worth noting.
