There is a great new place to take photos with the Disney characters at Disney California Adventure. Dancin with Disney is a fun, new entertainment option in the Hollywood Land section of the park.
Dancin with Disney is a fun character party that is open daily from 1:00 – 5:00. It is located in the Stage 17 building which is in-between the Monsters Inc attraction and the Muppets ride. The characters rotate every 20 minutes or so, which means you are likely to encounter a variety of characters during your visit.
The mix of characters is one of the most interesting parts of this experience. You won’t find the big names like Mickey and Minnie, but instead you’ll find the Ugly Stepsisters, Clara Cluck, Marie (from The Aristocats), Clarabelle Cow, Big Bad Wolf, and so on. It was truly hilarious to see the Stepsisters and Marie and Daisy Duck and Clarabelle and Clara Cluck doing a ladies only dance to “Girls Just Want To Have Fun.”
This new entertainment option hasn’t been highly publicized yet, which means it currently is one of the hidden gems at Disney California Adventure. Head over there and grab some photos with the characters before the word spreads.

We went in November (just before Thanksgiving) and our then 14mo old threw a fit in Prep and Landing (at the Muppets theater), so I left my wife and the tween boys with her and took Emma out for a walk. We just happened across this attraction and our daughter went absolutely nuts – in a good way! She was dancing around, chasing the characters to give them hugs and cleaning up all the paper confetti on the ground. It was a major save to our day! We were there for 4 days and this was day 3, so made sure to hit it again on the last day and it had the same effect.
Emma fell in love with Marie (the Aristocat kitty) and the characters tried to get Emma on stage with her (she almost went, then had “DADDY!!! save me” anxiety). It was soooo cute.

That’s a great story. Thank you for sharing it! While there isn’t much to the Dancin’ with Disney experience, it is a unique chance for kids to dance around with the characters. Instead of waiting in line to meet a character, they get to jump around, have fun and just be kids. I hope this sticks around for a while.
