Disney’s movies and theme park attractions are memorable for the story lines and characters, but the music is always a key part of any Disney experience. It just wouldn’t be the same to ride “it’s a small world” or the Haunted Mansion without their classic soundtracks.
If you are looking to bring a little Disney magic home, Walt Disney Records has just released a new Disney Classics box set which includes 94 original recordings from Disney and Disney-Pixar movies, television shows and theme parks. The collection includes songs from over 85 years of Disney musical heritage.
The collection has four volumes of music: Disney Modern Classics, Disney Timeless Classics, Disney Theme Park Classics, and Disney Television Classics and retails for $49.98 (pricing may vary based on the retailer). You can find the box set in the Disney theme parks, on Amazon, or any other place (like iTunes) that sells music.
I spent many years working at Disneyland in California, so it brought back a lot of memories to hear the soundtracks from attractions like the Enchanted Tiki Room, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Haunted Mansion. It was also nice to hear songs from a few retired Disneyland attractions like the Country Bear Playhouse, Swiss Family Treehouse, and the Carousel of Progress. The song from Soarin’ Over California is one of my favorites from the theme park disc.
The collection also has a lot of great music ranging from modern movies like Under the Sea (Little Mermaid) to classic music like Little April Shower (Bambi), and even music from TV shows like the Duck Tales theme. Check out the full song list to see all of the great music in the collection.
