Disney On Ice presents Mickey’s Search Party

Mickey Mouse and his friends are visiting Washington for performances of Disney On Ice presents Mickey’s Search Party, playing in Kent from October 30 – November 4 followed by shows in Everett from November 7–10.

My family was fortunate to be invited to the opening night of this ice skating show which features characters from Disney-Pixar’s Coco, Frozen, Moana, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Toy Story and The Little Mermaid.

Reflective ceilings are great for selfies

During the show, Mickey Mouse and his friends use Captain Hook’s treasure map to solve clues, each of which leads to an entertaining scene from a Disney film. The segment with Disney-Pixar’s Coco was one of our favorite parts of the show with all of the colorful costumes and the swaying skeletons.

Of course, a show that takes place on a frozen surface wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the wintry world of Arendelle. It seemed like every kid in the audience was singing along with Elsa as video projections created a kaleidoscope of crystals to help build her ice palace.

When Moana took the stage, the projection effects really transformed the ice rink. Fire effects rained down from the ceiling while Moana sailed her boat and battled the fiery wrath of Te Ka. It was an impressive use of projection technology and a great way to tell a story.

Disney on Ice is a fun, entertaining show that is great for families with children of all ages. The show has many interactive moments that will keep your children entertained from the first scene to the last.

Can good conquer evil and will Mickey and his pals help save Tinker Bell? You’ll have to see the show to find out!
