If you’re anything like me, a strong cup of coffee in the morning is a must. Although Disneyland doesn’t yet have a Starbucks on property, there are some great places to get a mocha. One of the best places is the newly opened Jolly Holiday Bakery on Main Street USA.
This new bakery can be found at the very end of Main Street on the left as you enter Adventureland. The location has been used for many different things over the years, most recently as an Annual Passport processing center. It is wonderful to see the place refreshed as a dining location, as the outdoor patio is a great place to sip coffee and people watch.
The Jolly Holiday Bakery offers many of the baked good that previously were offered at the Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Street. That location is now being remodeled into an expanded dining area for the neighboring restaurant. The new bakery also offers fresh salads, sandwiches, soups and quiches. But most importantly, the location offers mochas, lattes and any other cappuccino drink you’d like.
In the evenings, the outdoor patio is a nice place to watch the fireworks. A fair warning though, some of the projection and light effects on Sleeping Beauty Castle might be obscured because of the trees in the central hub. If you don’t mind that one small point, you’ll have a great view of the sky and wonderful seats for the fireworks show.
The Jolly Holiday Bakery has a lot of charm because of its Mary Poppins inspired décor. The doors have stained glass windows which depict the penguins. The floor has a mosaic that is reminiscent of Bert’s sidewalk drawings. You might be half awake while waiting in line to get your coffee, but there are many wonderful details to the restaurant.
Overall, the food at the Jolly Holiday Bakery is great for breakfast or lunch. This is a newer location in a high traffic location, so the line has been long at times. If you just want coffee, there is a coffee cart a few steps away near the Frontierland entrance. But if you’re looking for a great little lunch spot, the Jolly Holiday Bakery can’t be beat.
