Construction is underway for Earl of Sandwich, a new restaurant coming to Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District. This will be the only Earl of Sandwich in California and it is sure to be a favorite among as it has been at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Paris.
The restaurant will be adjacent to AMC Theatres in the location formerly used by Compass Books. The kiosk in front of the store (that Compass had originally used to sell magazines) is being removed to create room for outdoor dining seating.
Earl of Sandwich will offer its signature hot sandwiches including The Original 1762, a sandwich of roast beef, sharp cheddar and horseradish sauce on freshly baked artisan bread. Soups, salads, wraps and desserts also are on the menu.
Earl of Sandwich offers a vast array of hot and cold beverages including The Earl’s Grey Lemonade. Breakfast sandwiches and pastries will be available in the morning.
Disney originally said the restaurant would open in “summer,” but the construction appears to be moving along a bit slower than expected. Our guess is that the sandwiches and soups will be available later this fall.
