I felt like a rock star when I got home. I had been traveling for work and, while I was away, the mailman delivered a box with a giant Transformers picture on the side. We told my son that he had to wait until daddy got home before he could play with it, which meant my homecoming suddenly became a very big deal. We’re talking about Transformers here. In my son’s eyes, there is nothing more exciting.
Hasbro was nice enough to send us two Transformers Construct-Bots which are Transformers toys that you can build yourself. It is a neat concept because it combines the idea of building blocks with the ability to customize your toys. And of course, the final product transforms which makes it better than most toys on the market.
My son immediately took possession of the Autobot and declared I was the Decepticon. And so, we opened our respective kits and began building our robot armies. I have to admit, I was concerned when I saw all of the parts inside. But the instructions were very detailed and my son was able to assemble his Transformer Construct-Bot relatively quickly. The parts snap together securely, but can pop apart without too much effort so that you can swap pieces between the Transformers.
The Transformers Construct-Bots are great because they encourage imaginative play (as you create your own characters) and the assembly process develops fine motor skills. And if your kid is anything like mine, you can also refine your sound effect skills as you make pretend blaster and jet engine noise while playing with them.
If your child is into building blocks and Transformers, it is worth checking out the Transformers Construct-Bots as a Christmas gift. The toys are relatively inexpensive and are fun to play with. When assembled, they convert from robot to vehicle just like the other Transformers toys. But with the Construct-Bots, you get the added fun of creating your own custom machines. With all of the interchangeable parts, there is almost no limit to what your child can do with them.
