In just two more days, Disney will kick off the One More Disney Day 24-hour party. We know there will be special items like commemorative ear hats and menu items. But is it worth staying up all night for this special party?
Earlier today, Disney gave a look at the special entertainment scheduled for the 24-hour party:
- Dance party featuring KIIS DJs at Tomorrowland Terrace from 8:30 p.m. – 4 a.m.
- Second showing of Mickey’s Soundsational Parade at 10 p.m.
- Performances by Billy Hill & the Hillbillies at The Golden Horseshoe from 11:15 p.m. – 4:45 a.m.
- Special showing of “Fantasmic!” at 1 a.m.
- Character meet & greets throughout the night:
- Mickey Mouse and friends in pajamas at Carnation Plaza Gardens
- Darth Vader and Stormtroopers in Tomorrowland
- Country Bears in Frontierland
This event isn’t for those hoping for big surprises like celebrity appearances, all night dance parties or sneak previews of new attractions. Disneyland is known for its all-night Grad Nite parties for graduating seniors of local high schools. But based on what we’re hearing, the One More Disney Day even won’t have a huge amount of special entertainment. Instead, you can expect the regular Disneyland experience, just available for an extended period of time.
Another item to consider is that the special items planned have very tight limits. There will only be 2,000 pair of commemorative ears given out. The “midnight snack” is limited to just a few hundred people. There will be some diehards who will camp out for these things. This means that unless you specifically plan to take part in the special activities, you likely will be too late.
Overall, we think the One More Disney Day event is worth attending if you are looking for additional time in the park. All of the attractions will be open and there are some good odds that the lines will be nonexistent late in the night. This could be your chance to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad twenty times in a row, if your stomach can handle it.
