There are few things more satisfying than watching the grime melt away as you pressure wash your patio. I have been on a cleaning spree these past few weeks as we prepared to move out of our rental house. Carpets were cleaned, bathrooms were scrubbed, and a power wash to the back patio made the place sparkle like new.
A pressure washer has been on my wish list for a while. I’ve heard people rave about them but I had the misconception that they were overly expensive or required a separate air compressor. But that changed when I got my hands on the Sun Joe Electric Pressure Washer SPX3000. You just plug it in and connect the garden hose. Next thing you know, the grime is disappearing from your pavement. I want to thank Sun Joe for the opportunity to review this product.
Our rental house was built in the early 80s and I doubt that the patio had ever been cleaned. Several patches of the concrete had turned black from years of barbecues and miscellaneous grime. It was gross, but that also made it the perfect place to test a pressure washer.
The Sun Joe Pressure Washer is about the size of a household vacuum cleaner. I assembled it in about 20 minutes with just a screwdriver. It comes with everything you need to get started. I was especially impressed that the unit has a very long 35-foot power cord. I had just assumed I would need an extension cord to use this in the backyard, but the built in power cord was more than enough. They designed this really well.
The 14.5-AMP/1800-Watt motor generates 2030 PSI of pressure. It comes with five quick connect spray tips that let you use this pressure washer for a variety of tasks. I used the direct spray tips to pulverize the grime off the concrete and to remove some paint that had been on the pavement for decades. In the photo below, you can see how I could write my name in the grime. It was gross and fun at the same time.
Some of the quick connect spray tips will give you a softer spray so that you can use the Sun Joe Pressure Washer for cleaning the exterior of your home, windows, or your car. I was pleasantly surprised by the versatility of this tool. I had just assumed pressure washers could only be used on grime or only had one pressure setting. I didn’t realize that it could be used to safely wash a car.
The Sun Joe has two 30.4 fl oz detergent tanks that are great for use when washing a car or an RV. There’s a switch so you can change between tanks if you want to use different cleaning solutions or you can switch off the use of soap completely. This makes it easy to use one cleaner for the body of your car and then to switch to something stronger for the grime on the wheels and rims.
The spray wand is attached to a 20-foot hose, which made it easy to move around while cleaning. The unit has wheels which makes it simple to maneuver and the holders for the hose, power cord, and spray wand keep everything neatly in place.
As a dad who cares about safety, I liked that the spray wand has a safety lock and that the pressure washer turns off whenever you release the trigger.
After seeing the sparkle on the back patio, I feel confident that we will get every last penny back from our rental deposit. And when I get settled in our new house, I plan to use the Sun Joe to clear the construction dust from our driveway.
If you are looking for a pressure washer for your home, the Sun Joe SPX3000 is an affordable option that will keep your sidewalk, driveway, and patio looking like new. You can find the Sun Joe SPX3000 Pressure Joe on Amazon or at most hardware stores.
