Weekends usually fly by. We always seem to be busy with errands or going to some event. This weekend was different though. We set up a few chairs in the backyard and just spent the day enjoying the nice weather. Summer finally found its way to Portland and we enjoyed every moment of it.
We have two golden retrievers and they love playing in the water. On warm days, we will often fill a kiddie pool for them to play in. And for my son, warm days mean that the sprinklers and a Super Soaker become his favorite playthings.
The dogs didn’t seem to mind whenever my son sprayed them with his fancy Tri Strike Crossbow Super Soaker. It is shaped like a crossbow and it shoots three streams of water when the arms are deployed. The dogs had a grand time jumping up to catch the water in their mouths. It wasn’t long before the dogs were soaked and my son was giggling with glee.
If you need to aim for targets at a greater distance, you can fold in the arms of the Nerf Super Soaker to fire a single stream that can reach up to 38 feet. I noticed that when my son had the Tri Strike Crossbow in this mode, he was easily shooting the water over the fence and into the neighbor’s yard. Hopefully they didn’t mind the soaking.
We have a few other Super Soakers around the house, so it didn’t take long before I joined my son in the water fight. On a hot day, no one seems to mind getting sprayed. And with the large water reservoir on the Tri Strike Crossbow, my son was able to chase me and the dogs around the yard for quite awhile before he had to reload.
Sunny days are few and far between in Portland. But for those glorious few times when the sun comes out, we make the most of the good weather. It was nice to hang out in the backyard and to play in the water with my son. Hopefully we will have many more of these days this summer.
