If you have ever wanted to skip the long lines at the ticket booths, Disneyland has a new high tech option.
Using your smartphone, visit the Disneyland mobile site and click on “buy tickets.” At this time, the only ticket options available for purchase this way are the 1-Day, 1-Park tickets and 1-Day Park Hoppers. If you want to buy multi-day tickets, you will still need to wait in line and buy your tickets the old fashioned way. Disney says that they do plan to add the 2-Day tickets in the near future.
After you enter your credit card info, you’ll get a barcode in your confirmation that will be scanned when you enter the park. As you go through the turnstiles, the employee will give you a paper ticket that needs to be used if you plan to park hop or to re-enter the park. Presumably this step will be eliminated in the future, as getting a paper ticket seems to defeat the purpose of the electronic ticketing.
The nice part about Disney using a mobile site versus an app is that the mobile ticket purchases can be done regardless of which brand of smartphone you are using. As long as you have a web browser on your phone, you should be able to give this a try.
