Thanks to an update to the Disneyland online schedule, we now have some insight on which areas of Disneyland will be impacted November 6 and 7 for the filming of Saving Mr. Banks, staring Tom Hanks.
According to the posting, two areas of Disneyland will be impacted: Main Street USA and Fantasyland.
- On the morning of November 6, the Carnation Cafe and portions of Main Street U.S.A. will be closed.
- Fantasyland will be closed intermittently on both November 6 and 7.
The Main Street USA closures likely won’t impact your day, unless you were planning to dine at Carnation Cafe. The Fantasyland closures are concerning due to the ambiguous scope.
Considering the movie’s desire to be authentic to the period, it is likely that filming could include Sleeping Beauty Castle, Storybook Land Canal Boats (which is currently closed through Nov. 16), King Arthur Carrousel, the Mad Tea Party and Dumbo the Flying Elephant.
If you have park hopper tickets with Early Entry, we recommend visiting the Fantasyland attractions first thing as they may be closed later in the day.
