There has been a galactic battle raging in our living room the past few days. Angry Birds have been flying through the air and destroying an AT-AT walker from Star Wars, much to the delight of my son. Yes, Angry Birds Star Wars toys have landed in our home.
Like most people, we have spent too many hours playing Angry Birds on our phones. And like all the cool kids, the Star Wars films are some of our favorites (well, at least the original films are). So when we had the chance to play with Angry Birds toys with a Star Wars theme, it was a perfect match.
Angry Birds Star Wars AT-AT Attack Battle Game
My son and I had a lot of fun playing with the Star Wars AT-AT Attack Battle Game. It has several pieces that you stack to build the AT-AT (just like in the app). You then launch the little Angry Birds from a catapult to knock down the structure. My son loved the big crashes when he happened to hit one of the AT-AT’s legs. It was a balancing act getting the structure rebuilt, so we usually worked on that together. We also found it was sometimes more fun to just throw the Angry Birds at the structure rather than use the catapult. But of course, feel free to make up your own rules when you play at home.
The game includes 12 figures, 21 blocks, 8 AT-AT pieces, and 1 Lightsaber launcher. It is recommended for ages 5 and up.
Angry Birds Star Wars Millennium Falcon Bounce Game
We also had fun playing with the Angry Birds Star Wars Millennium Falcon Bounce Game, in which you try to bounce table tennis balls into a Millennium Falcon to score points. This game was more challenging than I had expected, but was a lot of fun to play. I recommend placing the Millennium Falcon against a wall when you play so that you don’t have to chase after the balls as much when you miss.
The game includes the Millennium Falcon target and Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, and Han Solo bird balls. It also comes with 5 cardboard pigs and several stickers that you can use to decorate the Millennium Falcon (or your siblings). It is recommended for ages 8 and up.
If you have a child who is a fan of Angry Birds, it is worth bringing home one of these toys. It brings the app to life and the games are a lot of fun to play. Speaking of which, my little general says it is time to attack the AT-AT again. The dark side won’t know what hit them.
