Earlier today, millions of mature adults cried out in amazement and stopped working because the geniuses at Sesame Street decided to tweet from There is a Monster at the End of this Book. If you don’t have this book, go buy it now. Or better yet, download the app.
While it is unlikely that my son followed the Twitter conversation during his busy day at school, for many adults it was a moment of nostalgia and a fun chance to see a new take on an old story. It also goes to show just how important it is to read with out children. Here I am decades later, have a moment of happiness because of a book I read as a child. If Holden Caulfield should ever pop up with a Twitter account, my life just might be complete.
Thank you to Sesame Street’s social media team, and Grover, for the laugh today.
