There are times when I think my son loves his trains more than anything else. His train table has remained his favorite toy for several years. Anything that can be lined up in a row (shoes, books, cups, plates) can become an impromptu train set. It seems like my son always has trains on the brain, which is why he was thrilled when Toy State sent us the Cat Iron Diesel Train to play with.
The train set comes with over seven feet of track, which easily connects into a large oval. The train engine is powered by a couple AA batteries and has a simple on/off switch to get the train chugging around the track. The really neat thing was that the train had a removable Cat dump truck, bulldozer, and a pivoting crane that could lower a shipping container. My son spent a lot of time loading and unloading the cargo, along with making all the engine noises you would expect from a boy using his imagination.
Toy State’s Cat Iron Diesel Train has a MSRP of $18.99, but is selling for only $17.71 (with free shipping) on Amazon. For an inexpensive toy, you get a lot in the box. If you have a junior conductor in your home, this train set is worth checking out.
