There are two big unknowns whenever you travel for a business presentation: will the conference room have a projector and will it have reliable WiFi. You can take the guesswork out of your next meeting with the new ZTE Spro 2 Smart Projector from AT&T.
A few years ago, I worked at a startup in Portland where I frequently had to pitch new projects to clients. I made it a habit to bring printed copies of my presentation because there was a 50/50 chance that the conference room wouldn’t have a projector. A surprising number of places only had one, portable projector that they had to share among their team.
It wasn’t surprising to find the wireless network locked down at a business, but many didn’t provide guest access. If you needed to show a web page or wanted to play a YouTube video during your presentation, you were out of luck.
I recently tested out a new piece of tech that solves all of this. The ZTE Spro 2 Smart Projector is an Android-powered, portable projector that features a 4G LTE connection on the AT&T network. I brought the ZTE Spro 2 along for my last few business trips and found it was an essential for business travel.
The Spro has a 5” touchscreen that makes it easy to control and to switch between video sources. You can connect it to your laptop with the HDMI cable, use wireless projection from a Miracast-capable mobile device, play a file from a USB thumb drive, connect to an external hard drive, or access files through the microSD card slot. It is nice to have all of these options when you are traveling to an unfamiliar place. You never really know when someone will hand you a USB drive and ask if you can share a file.
4G LTE connectivity on AT&T
The hotspot worked exceptionally well during my travels. I am reluctant to use the WiFi connection at a hotel because it is often slow and using open WiFi networks is an easy way to get your data stolen. With my own hotspot in hand, I had reliable 4G data speeds and could safely connect up to 10 devices.
No wires, no problem
This might seem like a small detail, but I was really impressed that the Spro 2 had a built in battery that could give up to 16 hours of hotspot service or 2.5 hours of projector time. If you are in a place where an outlet isn’t nearby, you can still run a presentation without missing a beat.
A bright, portable projector
The Spro 2 has a 200 LM projector, which I found to be much more powerful than expected from the compact size. It can project images up to 10 feet in size and has an auto focus that keeps the image crystal clear. I used the Spro 2 during my business trips, but also found it was a lot of fun to use at home. My son and I had a Netflix movie night by projecting the image above our fireplace. And then to be weird, we projected an image of a fireplace onto our fireplace just because we could.
AT&T has a winner with the ZTE Spro 2 Smart Projector. It is the perfect travel accessory, especially if you frequently make presentations on the road. When you are home, the Spro 2 can make an impromptu big screen for your family movie night. Prices start at $399.99 with a 2-year annual contract and qualifying service from AT&T.
