Why does Verizon sell stuffed toys? Its otter nonsense.
A few years ago, it might have seemed strange to find anything other than a cell phone in a Verizon store. The store were known for having a wide selection of phones, and some cases and Bluetooth earpieces. If you wanted anything beyond that, you had to visit one of the big electronics stores. But things are changing as we get more and more connected devices.
Along with the latest Android phone, Verizon stores can offer a GoPro Hero 7, Lifeprint printer, Nest Hello, Nest Cam Outdoor Security Camera, or even a Google Home Hub. Why are Verizon stores carrying so much tech on the shelves? Its all part of an effort to become a one-stop shop for all of your tech-related needs.
I learned about Verizon’s selection of tech, and stuffed otters, when they offered to loan me a Google Home Hub. Our house is fully wired as a smart home and I was more than happy to see how Google’s latest device worked. But it made me wonder how many other items Verizon offered beyond cell phones. And that rabbit hole is where I lost an hour and eventually discovered a stuffed otter.
Verizon has been revamping its stores to meet the needs of its customers. You can now find in-store pick-up, free shipping, and other services to make the shopping experience more convenient. At the Next Gen stores, Verizon not only offers simplified plans on the best network, but they also offer a robust selection of the latest tech products.
And that’s where devices like the GoPro Hero 7, Lifeprint printer, Nest Hello, Nest Cam Outdoor Security Camera, and Google Home Hub come in. Verizon wants the stores to be place where customers can discover new technology and to learn what it can do for their digital lifestyle.
In my case, the Google Home Hub has become the best desk clock I’ve ever had. I like being able to control my smart home using my voice, and the Home Hub is an easy way to check the weather or to see my upcoming meetings. It also works great for playing YouTube videos and playing music.
I think it is great that Verizon is offering such a variety of tech gear. Our phones have become a hub for connecting with many gadgets, so it makes sense to see more technology items available in Verizon’s stores.
