Just because you are on vacation at Walt Disney World doesn’t mean that you have to miss the Olympic games. If you know where to look, you’ll find many televisions around Walt Disney World Resort tuned to the telecasts.
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort had a special event with several Olympic medalists (from left to right) Scott Johnson (’84 and ’88 gold-medal gymnast), Fred Tyler (’72 gold-medal swimmer), Wendy Bruce-Martin (’92 bronze-medal gymnast) and David Oliver (’08 bronze-medal hurdler). The event was open to all of the hotel guests and was a fun way to meet some athletes, see their medals and take photos before watching the opening ceremonies on the large screen TVs throughout the hotel lobby.
