Those planning to visit the Disneyland Resort on February 29 are in for a special treat. Disney is planning a 24-hour party, called One More Disney Day, to celebrate leap day. Disneyland will open gates at 6 a.m. Feb. 29 and close the park at 6 a.m. March 1.
Whenever Disneyland plans something like this, you can expect crowds and Disney is already getting their plans in place. Visitors can line up starting at 10 p.m. — eight hours before a 24-hour party begins at Disneyland on Feb. 29. The first 2,000 fans in line will get limited-edition ear hats, the Disney Parks blog announced last week. Fans in the esplanade will get wrist bands, which will be different colors based on their arrival times.
For early arrivals, guests can park between 10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 and 6 a.m. Feb. 29 in the Pumbaa Parking lot on Disney Way across from the Anaheim GardenWalk. Restrooms will be available for visitors in line. The Pumbaa parking lot shuttle does not start until 6 a.m. on Feb 29, so you will need to walk to the main entrance if you arrive earlier.
No special tickets are required for the party. A regular single-day park pass costs $80. Also, annual passes can be used for admission.
