Every December, Great Wolf Lodge resorts transform into a winter wonderland, complete with decorations, a visit from Santa Claus, and an hourly snowfall inside the lobby. It might seem strange to visit a water park in winter, but it is one of the best times to visit. My family stayed at Great Wolf Lodge last December and had a wonderful time inside the 84 degree water park while we watched the snow falling outside.

Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge

Snowland begins November 30 and runs through January 4, 2014. The tree lighting ceremony (at all properties) will be on November 30, and this is also the day that Santa makes his arrival to Great Wolf Lodge! Greatwolf.com/Snowland has all of the general information and details on special rates for the holidays.

One of my family’s favorite parts about Snowland is the chance to dine inside a life-size gingerbread house. You can make a reservation for breakfast, lunch or dinner and entree selections are served from the Loose Moose Cottage restaurant menu. This unique experience is only $20 (for each seating of up to 6 people) which is donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters. I highly recommend doing this during your visit. It is a lot of fun.
